Appointments

For non-urgent issues, please follow the guidelines below and choose the right service. An appointment may not be necessary.

This will help us to be more efficient by making an appointment available to you when you need it the most.

eConsult can be completed online, over the phone or in exceptional circumstances in person. It will be triaged by a GP, who will decide the most appropriate clinician to deal with the problem and within what timeframe.

  • If it is decided the problem is urgent and needs to be dealt with on the day, you will be phoned with an appointment time.
  • If it is decided the problem is routine you will receive a text/phone call with an appointment date/time.

How to Request a Home Visit

Patients are requested to complete an admin eConsult or telephone before 9:30am if a visit is required that day.

Most visits are now carried out by our Paramedic Home Visiting Service (run by GP Federation, DGS Health).

The duty doctor will triage all home visit requests before deciding on the best course of action.

Please give as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to their house calls.

The doctor may wish to speak to you before attending you at home.

Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit and a visit is at the doctor's discretion.

Please telephone the surgery on: 01474 873 828.

Children's Blood Test Appointments

Your child's blood test

We are unable to do blood tests for under 16s however we have included some helpful links below for further information on where to get blood test done.

Change or Cancel an Appointment

Our appointments are very valuable. If you are unable to attend please telephone the surgery or come in to reception and notify our care navigators or cancel on the NHS App.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible so that your appointment can be offered to someone else.

Repeated failure to attend booked appointments is a significant waste of NHS resources and may lead to your registration being removed from our practice list.

Ways to cancel

  1. Telephone us on 01474 873 828.
  2. Cancel through the NHS App

Enhanced Access

We have enhanced access clinics which are run by the DGS Health federation and they use other GPs/ clinicians for this service.

The appointments can only be booked in to these clinics when they have been clinically assessed by our eConsult team

The receptionist on duty may not be one of our team and will be unable to answer any queries or process anything for you.

Enhanced access appointments are available Monday to Friday from 6:30pm to 8pm and Saturday at Kent House Surgery: 9am to 5pm.
